ITALIAN PALOMA
For a refreshing, thirst-quenching tequila cocktail, Paloma is definitely at the top of the list for any tequila aficionado, and it is very easy to make. This is a light, fruity drink with enticing light fizz and one of the smoothest tequila cocktails you can prepare. Unlike many conventional variations of Paloma, our recipe features a delicious Italian-inspired twist by adding Aperol and fresh basil for herbaceous zestiness.
Prepare agave syrup by diluting the agave nectar with water in 1:1 ratio. In a Boston shaker, muddle Basil Leaves with agave nectar and freshly squeezed lime juice. Add Espanita Reposado tequila, Aperol, freshly squeezed red grapefruit juice and a handful of ice. Shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds and strain in a cocktail glass filled with fresh ice through a fine mesh strainer. Add a splash of club soda to finish the drink and gently stir to combine.
