"Mosca De Espana" - with Espanita® Anejo tequila
This irresistible cocktail has the magic power to vicariously transport drinkers to sunny beaches of tropical Caribbean islands. No matter if you’re enjoying a beautiful summer day, or just need a mental escape from frightful winter weather, consider making "Mosca de Espana" to lift up your spirits. Using fresh pineapple instead of sugary mixes really ups the quality of the drink.
In a Boston shaker, lightly muddle together fresh mint leaves, pineapple chunks, simple syrup and freshly squeezed lime juice. Then add Espanita Anejo tequila, dry curacao and a handful of ice. Shake for 10 seconds and strain into a cocktail glass filled with fresh ice through a fine mesh strainer. Add 4 dashes of Blood Orange Bitters and gently stir.
Note: Canned pineapple can be substituted but you may want to adjust the sweetness by reducing the amount of simple syrup.
This cocktail recipe is all about flavors. Lime and mint bring fresh tart notes to the sweetness of the fresh ripe pineapple. Dry Curacao adds exotic, citrusy accents while blood orange bitters tie everything together.
